I just baught an X-arcade because I wanted a controller I could use on consoles as well as for mame. I have heard that the joysticks on the X-arcade aren't the best and was wondering if you could swap them and still have it work on ps2, dreamcast and xbox.

Sure you can...just measure if you plan on using the same CP without modification...gotta get replacement joysticks with that fit and have holes in the same spot. If you're making your own enclosure it doesn't matter. ;)
--Hope that helps.

I got my X-Arcade 2 player unit about three weeks ago. I'm really pleased with it. I was thinking of doing something similar to you, but I'm quite happy with it as it is. X-Gaming actually encourage you to tweak things to your liking if you wish. You can change the sticks and buttons to anything you like. Though as the poster above said, you'd be better off finding a stick that fits the same mounting holes but I don't think will be a problem.

They are like happs Ultimates... Not as good as Compititions, but unless you have another right next to it, you probably wont notice.
Get it, try it... And if you don't love it... replace them. But chances are, you will be happy with them.

The Real Arcade sticks are a very loose feeling stick. Swapping the stick out for a Happs Super or Competition is the way to go.
My understanding is that the Super is a direct replacement, same mounting holes and all.
