Title: Arkanoid Cabinet
Post by: Fuzzguitar on October 08, 2004, 04:04:17 am
Hiya, anyone know much about this machine? I haven't checked KLOV yet, seems a bit of a rarity in Australia anyhow:

It's tempting.

That looks nothing like any Arkanoid I played in the UK and I used to love that game (although KLOV does say it was sold as a conversion kit).

Aesthetically (and I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder) that is one ugly looking cab.

Arkanoid is the most common "conversion" game ever.

It was NEVER shipped as a complete game. It was only available as a conversion kit, and as such, you will find it in every conceivable cabinet there is.

However it seems the most common cabinet they're in are Pac-Man cabinets once Pac-Man lots its charm in the late 80's.

I believe most of Romstar's games (Arkanoid, Bubble Bobble, etc..) were only conversion kits, so there is no such thing as an "original" game.

The cab pictured looks like one of the newer import "candy" cabs though a different look I've seen.  If you search KLOV.com long enough you may find the original game name.
