I know this has been discussed, but I cannot for the life of me find it again. Awhile ago someone discovered that some type of ceiling tile hanger could be used as a marquee retainer. Could someone tell me what it was again (or any other alternatives that have been discussed). Thanks!

1" x 3/4" aluminum. $1.49 for a 36" strip at most home improvement stores. Spray paint prime and paint black (or your choice of color). Very soft, easy to cut with hand saw and easy to drill holes and countersinks in with any drill.
Yes this was just discussed in the last week. Should be able to find the thread easily by searching for "aluminum" in the body.

There's several options I've found.
If you want flexible plastic/vinyl, there's corner brackets and there's screen edge holders.

If you want solid, there's the same L-corner brackets in aluminum as posted about here already. In fact some come already painted black, and I've seen one that's chrome.

I found an alternative at Lowes. In the home decor section (wallpaper, curtains, etc) they have transparent plastic corner protectors. They come in varying lengths and they take pretty well to spraypaint. A few coats did the trick for a couple cabs I've built. It's dirt cheap, too.

PS: Assuming most Home Depots use the same layout, you find these at the end of the aisle in the back, in the general area of carpets/flooring/ceilings.

I went into my local Lowes to pick up some of the aluminum channels, but could not find what you were talking about. The closest thing I could find was a thing shaped like a capital U (squared corners though). I don't, however, think that was what you were talking about. It was in the section with all the angle iron and everything. It was also quite a bit more expensive than the prices everyone has mentioned (around $7.50 or so). Is there a picture of what it is I'm looking for?

You were definitely in the right section. My Menards has them for $1.49, Home Depot for around $1.79 and Lowes for around $2.29 .
It should be in the bin right next to the U channel one. They may have just been out. Try HD or, if you have them, Menards, or even one of the larger "hardware" stores like Ace or True-Value.

Would it be possible to get a picture of what I'm after? I went into Home Depot to see if they had them, and had no luck in finding anything that matches the description. I didn't even see a spot at either Lowes or Home Depot for any type of aluminum channel. The closest I have been able to find is the channel that looks like (looking at the end):

I don't see how I would be able to use that. If that is infact what I'm after, how do you fasten it?

I actually used a U-channel piece on the bottom of the marquee. I drilled holes on the inside edge and drove small nails in from an angle. Then I put the marquee in the U-channel and secured the top of the marquee with L-channel on the top. The result has no visible fasteners.
