Just announcing my Midway style cab. I got the plans from http://www.jakobud.com/ and modified them slightly. I have the majority of it assembled, and the CP is drilled and ready to go. All the T-molding routing is done. I used 1x2's and drilled on the inside for the bulk of this to avoid filling and to not have to drill into the edge of the MDF.

Here's another pic. I used the layout of a true NBA Jam/NFL Blitz CP, and just added a few more buttons per player. It feels very comfortable and is much more roomy than it looks.

Don't think the last one worked, let's try it again

I sure wouldn't want to play blue! Talk about uncomfortable....

It does look quite uncomfortable, but it suprisingly feels really good. I even checked the measurements 2 times of the original layout because I thought there is no way that could be right. As mentioned before, the layout is based on the Midway 4 player layout.

Alittle late to bring this up. But you don't need 7 buttons for Player 3 & 4.

Actually, I only have 6 for 3 & 4. The reason I have that many is this will be a console machine. The reason I have it that way is for games like Tekken Tag, DOA, etc. Also, I layed it out so that 3 button games (NBA Jam, NFL Blitz) would feel right, as well as fighters like Tekken would feel right. Plus it has the traditional Neo Geo layout (don't know if there are any 4 player Neo Geo games, but figured what the heck).

The cabinet looks good, but the button layout is too strange. Each to their own I guess.

It probably looks a little random, because I started out by drilling just the 3 standard NBA Jam buttons (I will play a ton of these types of games). I placed the remaining buttons where they felt right, not a set measurement. I'm sure the original NBA Jam layout was done this way as well, because the buttons are not a set distance from each other. It results in a more comfortable feel, yet less visually ballanced look. I think it will look better with some art on there.
