Post by: KHAN on October 04, 2004, 07:30:39 am
HELLO!
I have JVC an early 87's 200 watts hi fi AMP.
I have already attach it with my PC enjoying it.
speakers are two channels.8"inch 8 ohm and 80 watts.
but it is an old due to which it,s speakers are also very old.
recently i have repeared both of the 8"inch speakers.
Now i want to replace these speakers.
Can i attach 8 or 10 " sub woofers with the amp...
The main reason for doing this is to make a powefull
bass boost sound system .
any advice here for the type of subwoofers.
with thier Ohm's and watts..
thanks in advance...

So you're asking if you can just replace the 8" woofers with 8" "sub"woofers?  Yes, you can.  Easiest way is to just drag the old speaker box with you to wherever you're buying the new ones and have them help.  They can tell you what will work best.

There's several things you need to consider if you're going to upgrade a raw driver in a box.  Driver size, Ohm load, crossover frequencies, response curves, etc.  That's why it's best to just bring it in unless you know most of these factors.
