Title: chd games worth playing
Post by: Jakedakat on October 03, 2004, 04:53:33 pm
If anyone could tell me which .chd games are worth trying to run? My cabinet is running an athlon 2.0 w/256 ram. I just dont wanna waste my time getting games that aren't going to run smoothly. Thanks for any advice :)

My personal favourite is Hyper Athlete. It sometime suffers from slowdown but not every time. Also the sound isn't 100% correct. Tts like a modern Track & Field which is cool.

Not sure if 256Mb of RAM is enough though......

Hope that helps.

PS Are you downloading CHD's ? Much better to use one of the ROM burners (non-profit making AND you get a full set including all CHD games).

I don't care much for any of the CHD games I've played (I haven't played them all) - the graphics are horrible for starters, IMO.

Killer Instict 1-2 are cool but I don't know if they are 100% speed in mame. Area 51 is worth playing if you have a lightgun. I havent tested alot because i'm missing disk space to put them all on my arcade HD.

KI 1 and 2 are pretty much 100% playable on my Athlon XP 2400+  :)

Killer Instinct, and Area 51/ Maximum Force are the only chd games worth getting right now.

Ok thanks for the info, I didnt wanna waste my time getting games that dont run well. I would add Simpsons Bowling to the list of chd games that works well too. It runs very smoothly in my cabinet.

I forgot about simpsons bowling. I have a 2.4ghz machine with tons of RAM. It runs OK. I enjoy World Class Bowling better though
