Title: replacement joysticks for my X-arcade
Post by: deadmoney5 on October 02, 2004, 12:21:17 am
Hey All..

I'm not really digging the joysticks that came with the X-Arcade..

What do you'all recommend for replacements?
Are there REALLY good 8-way to 4-way joysticks or is it THAT much better to have a dedicated 4-way?

I'm thinking about the 360 joysticks for replacement...

advice?

Unfortunately, from what I've read on this board, the perfect 360 joysticks cannot be interfaced to the X-Arcade encoder. I can't remember the exact reason but I think it was something to do with the X-Arcade using non-standard voltages.

its because the wiring is sort of "backwards."  they use a common power instead of common ground.  i theory, if you opened up a 360 and hacked it to reverse polarity, it may work.  but that would be a long shot.  i have also heard that t-sticks wont fit the bolt pattern.  so my suggestion is just to sell it and build a new cp from scratch.

I've heard of P360's in an X-Arcade. I'll have to ask my friend if/when/how he did it .

Replace those cheap ass buttons while you're at it. =)
