and what i mean by that is that Whammoed mentioned galaxians in another thread. for me, when i play this game on my cab (and even though it isn't my favourite game) it just totally completes the magic of building my cab. this is because it is the last game i played on a cocktail cab which was back when i was in trade school (and yes, it was old even then!). for this game, i HAVE to insert a real coin. and then it's a time machine! from the very first sounds to the annoyingly slow movement of the ship the illusion is complete. i think i might go play a few games of it now ;D

Mikie & Galaga

Both are games i played in the arcade near my house when i was like 7

Kung-Fu Master
I remember sucking at it from an early age in an arcade while on vacation. They had Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom too (which incidentally is based on the movie of the same name), and I wasn't too bad at that, but I hate to play it now.

Mr. Do, no question.
I play it a ton, and everytime that corny music starts up I get transported back to grade school. I use to skip lunch to save my money and instead go to the local mom and pop video store just to pump said saved money into that Mr. Do game. I was terrible then (never got past level 7). I guess I'm about twice as good now (can get to level 15).

Pac Man and Ms Pac Man and RallyX...I have a cocktail and those are the games I remember playing on midway cocktails.

Both Gorf and Dragon's Lair have this effect on me. I remember playing them at the county fair for hours because we didn't have them anywhere around home. So the only time I could play them was at the arcade at the fair that was set up on a huge trailer.
They also had NFL Football, the laser disc game where you would pick a play to run, and it would use actual footage from Cowboys - Redskins games to show you the results of your play calling. I loved that game. I wish it was in Daphne.

Wonder Boy, one of the reasons I have a cab of my own. :)

ghouls n' goblins, karate champ, black tiger...
funny how the shelf life of those games and those like them is nearly eternal to the 50$ games i buy now play for a few hours and then do nothing but collect dust..

Omega Race . . . the mall, caramel popcorn, staring at Debbie Mandernach . . . *sigh*

Tron, Jungle King, Galaga, Heavy Barrel, Battlezone, Tempest, Twin Cobra, Karate Champ and a few others.
I can remember exactly where I played each of these the most. Arcade at mall, gas station, local pizza joint, small independant arcade, etc.

GYRUSS!!
$2 in quarters at the Aladdins Castle, while mom shops at sears, scotching your toe against the machine to help balance (yeah, it is geeky :-\) and wearing a blister on your finger trying to get to earth! Pretty much sums up why I'm building a cabinet.
