Title: Rough Ranger artwork anyone?
Post by: crashwg on September 30, 2004, 01:04:38 am
I just aquired a Defender cab that was apparently converted into Rough Ranger at some point in time.

It came with the RR sticker on both sides the marquee and the bezel.

I'm willing to give the complete set to someone willing to do some good with em.  Whether that is using them or tracing them into Illustrator for the sake of preservation (who know's maybe someone will want to make thier own and need the artwork to print).

So they're free to a good home.  You pay shipping.

BTW I stuck the stickers back to back so if you want to use them it'll take a bit of work to seperate them, but I'm sure it's posible as alot of paint came off with the sticker rendering 60% of the stickerieness usless.

Dibs? Are you kidding? Rough Ranger is one of the worst games ever made, AND the art looks terrible.

To each his own, but I won one of those at the auction, and it's just so laughable.

:)

I don't mean to knock the free trade of art on this board, but I'm just honestly stunned. When I bought mine, the guy standing next to me looked at it, chuckled and said to me while still stairing at the cab "rough ranger eh?" The stuff's pretty cheasy.

Oh, by the way, I intended my comments to come across as politely bemused, not crass & rude. I could see how they could be taken that way, so I thought I'd head it off at the pass  ;D

I know what it looks like, that's why I'm interested.  It's for my brother. ;)

Unless you can think of something *ahem... "better"?  I think Rough Ranger is about as choice as it gets for putting into someone elses house. :)

My bad for not responding sooner.  This isn't exactly on the top of my to do list.

I just want to make sure you infact are willing to pay shipping on on the set.  I think I forgot to mention before the one of the sidarts is ripped a little in the corner.  It is still completly intact, just torn a bit.

The sidart can either be folded to the size of the marquee to save on shipping or I can roll it up and put it in a tube attached to the marquee.

This is one of the only openly gay video games out there.
The inuendo is less than thinly veiled.

The guy kneeling, on the side-art, is FACING the guy standing, who is facing back at him. They have their "guns" aimed at each other.

The flyer is even better.....

"Only Two Men Can Do The Job!"
(Look it up on the net if you have time.)

Shirtless and wearing berets, this art is a riot.
It isn't modern gay, it is 80's stereotype gay.

The title comes from a combination of two different phrases used in the gay community.

"Rough Trade" and "**** Ranger"

The game-play is a direct rip off of Rolling Thunder however.
One final note, all of the music in the game is digitised classical music.

Leather Ranger, a supposedly "biker" version (Sequel?) of this game was prototyped but never licensed.

Have fun.

My brother landed a TRON cab, so we won't need that art.

I agree with all the criticsm of Rough Ranger here... It's one of those games that operators converted a poorly earning game to, only to find earnings DROP even more.

I was a big fan of Rolling Thunder and immediately tried Rough Ranger when I saw it, only to be horribly, horribly tortured with its awful gameplay and lousy controls.

I own one.

The art & the board are somewhere in an orange county dump.

The kneeling guy sure is shiney...LOL

They are in the elite "Design your own uniform fantasy squad."

Their moto is, "Don't ask, don't tell".

The thing that makes those guys really hot is the boots.

I hate to point this out, but it appears the guy standing has cameltoe. I'm sure it's the shading though. If this was done in Illustrator and the guys changed to girls (they already have boobies) then there would ba alot more people with this as side art on their cab.  :D
