is there a working mame rom for Pitfall yet?

Check here (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=P&game_id=9036) and read the Game Introduction.  As it is the arcade version of Pitfall and Pitfall II, there is no Pitfall rom.

The version I remember playing when I was a kid was this one (http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=360) (check the screenshots.)  Maybe that's the one you were thinking of.  Personally I like the way the Atari one looks better.

Yup. That's the one I played too. I wish there was a rom for it. I miss that game.

Have you thought about looking into an Atari 2600 emulator?

You can get one (Z26) for use in a MAME cab from www.screenshotarchive.com

I play all kinds of Atari games on my cab! It's great!  ;D
