Title: Problem getting GensAVGA to work right
Post by: arcaic on September 28, 2004, 05:43:43 am
Hi all,

I've just been setting up GensAVGA in my cab and cannot get it to launch properly.

I can get it to launch from Mamewah 1.51 it goes full screen but just shows a diagonal line pattern until I press escape when it then runs the game I selected. Once running all is fine.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 with Mamewah 1.51 and GensAVGA

This link is a 3mb video of whats going on. Sorry about the quality and ignore the odd colours as the green gun on my monitor is flipping out >:(.

You can see the diagonal line pattern. That stays there until I hit escape and then after a bit of flickering it runs ok!

Any idea's. I have searched but cant find a clue.

It will run fine if you issue the followiing from either a command prompt or the new task dialog.

d:\gens\gensavga.exe roms\Sonic the HedgeHog.smd

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for the reply

I've tried setting Show_Dos_box to all of 0,1, Yes,No, True and false but every time I exit mamewah and look at the ini file again it is set to Auto. I'll check again tonight.

What should it be set to for Gens/GensAVGA?

You can see from the AVI that Gens is launched and runs full screen it just doesnt seem to receive the path/filename of the rom correctly for some reason.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for the kick in the appropriate place.

I tried 'yes' not Yes or YES or True or 1 and it worked.

Heh, as of v1.51, the 'yes' is not case-specific...forget about True / False, that's gone for good :)
