Title: why my trackball not working in mame

i have Golden Tee trackball and opti pac - it is working as expected in Windows to move the pointer.

however when i tried mame to play marble madness and missile command the ball/cross would only move using the joystick.

is there something in mame that i have to do to make the trackball work for these (and others) games?

being originally trackball games i thought they would work automatically.

did you enable mouse input?

no - where should i do that?

isnt it automatically enabled?

nope. neather is joystick.
in mame 32 open options tab
Default Game Options
controllers tab
check all boxes you need

command line mame??? not that far into it yet. I am working on the FE first.

If you are using windows mame, then find mame.ini and change joystick and mouse to 1.

Hay... Thanks I have not got that far yet and I was wondering how much of a "B" it was going to be.... EZ enough.
