Ok, here is my setup. I have a Happ 3" trackball and an Oscar spinner hooked up to an OptiPac. I have the trackball going into the trackball inputs, and the spinner hooked up into the spinner inputs on the optipac. I have had this setup for about 2 years and have never had a problem. Recently, I have been noticing that the trackball is keeping/stealing focus on its own. The optipac is supposed to listen to whichever input is giving it current and give focus to that device. The problem is that when I want to use my spinner, I have to rotate it constantly for about 5 seconds before it becomes the focous device. Then if I don't move it for awhile, the trackball steals the focus and I have to rotate it again for 5 seconds to re-activate it. This makes for problems for games like lunar lander in which you set your thrust and then don't mess with it again until you are close to landing. I just took the trackball apart and cleaned all the rollers and the ball. The bearings seem good and it seems to spin normally. I don't know if this is an optipac problem or a trackball/spinner issue. Can anyone help? Thanks.

This happened to mine too (although as soon as I first tried it). Andy suggested to me that I swap the spinner & trackball connections round (ie wire the trackball to the 'spinner' inputs and vice versa).
This *seems* to have sorted the problem out...I haven't done a massive amount of testing to know for sure tho.
