Title: Speaker Grilles
Post by: Zexis Stryfe on September 24, 2004, 08:16:04 pm
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find speaker grilles to cover the holes I drilled in my cabinet for the speakers above the monitor? I tried Radio shack, but they don't carry them anymore... any ideas?

Have you searched online?

Also look at metal vents that hardware stores sell. They do the job.

Try looking at discount electronic stores. famous brands, xs cargo, not sur of the USA equivalent. I bought a pair of 4" speakers with grilles for 6.99. Nice looking grilles, threw the speakers in the trash.

I got mine in the auto section of an electronics/stereo shop. They were cheap and look great.

I think I've seen something similar at Walmart and/or PepBoys or Autozone. Might be worth a look next time you are out.

I used fan covers for 80mm fans I bought at Comp USA.  They're shaped like skulls.  Very scary..... :o

I got mine from partsexpress too. I was told at Radioshack they they are not stocking speakers covers anymore. I was told this at 3 different ones. I guess it came from corporate.

That stinks...you know radio shach used to carry the Midway style 6x9 cover.  It was exactly the same as the ones used on the Midway cocktails and uprights.

If you have a junkyard/U-pull-it type place near by, they often have a pile of car stereo bits and pieces in a corner somewhere, or still in the cars.
