Does anybody have barstools for their cabinet? I've been looking at a few local shops but I really can't find anything that I'm looking for...
Specically I'm looking for your typical barstool (steel legs, plastic-like seat) but I'd also like it to have a back to it and possible arm rests (but thats unlikely I'm guessing). Also I'd like this to have a black seat with regular steel legs :)
Anybody have any idea what this might cost and where I could order such a thing?
Also, do you guys use bar stools or just stand the whole time you play? Just curious :)

yeah..been wondering about that myself..
so i did a quick serach ... i didn' t know how expensive these things are.
target.com has some (web only)
kmart and walmart didn't have much of a seclection but i think there peices go for 100 a peice where target has a set of 2 (wood) for 50... i might just trick it out with some black paint and update the seat cover to something personallized like a SF2 char

I got a set from Ikea awhile back (12$ ea. on sale) they have a wood seat with a small back support section--great stools!

(wow long url)

Mr. Barstool in Philadelphia has every kind of stool imaginable. They have a website mrbarstool.com

Thanks for the replies!
A wooden barstool doesn't sound too comfortable though. I'd like some sort of seat cushion (just like the real bar stools)...
-
You can also check your local Lowe's, Home Depot, et al--they have some relatively inexpensive barstools too (can't remember how much off-hand, though).
-
My local PepBoys has a decent selection of barstools too. Some are very car-specific obviously, but they had all black, all red, and a checkerboard cushion, all of which would probably work fine. They had a nice flame design also. They were around $20 IIRC
EDIT: they look like the stool in the link below, although I know for a fact they were much cheaper than that when I saw them.

I picked up a couple of bits from Ikea a few weeks ago. I went round back and they loaded the boxes into the car for me.
When I got home I had the bits I'd paid for, plus a pair of flat packed bar stools! Obviously they were a free gift. They're wood painted white with an unpainted seat - no back or arm rests. Not exactly what I would have chosen but you can't go wrong with free!
Funny thing is, it isn't the first time it's happened to me. Last time my free gift was an ironing board :D
A good place to get hold of some nice bar stools on the cheap would be a closing down pub or bar. You'd also get a nice worn look too.

I found a nice one at the local Target here in Maine.....chrome with black padded seat with a back on it....can't remember how much it was.....but it was the perfect height.....I'm planning on getting that one....

Check garage sales and thrift stores.

Thanks for all the suggestions...
Target's website has this barstool:
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1_1/qid=1095956497/ref=sr_1_1/602-8752435-3459014?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000200OZE (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1_1/qid=1095956497/ref=sr_1_1/602-8752435-3459014?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000200OZE)
It's only $20 so I doubt it's very good but who knows? I stopped at one of my local Target's but they didn't have it... They did have another one for $30 so I'm considering that one... Both of them really aren't ideal but for the price I guess that's all I could get...
Speaking of price though, how much should I expect to pay for a bar stool?
Oh, I also stopped at Home Depot and a local furniture store, both didn't really have anything at all...
-
i'd also check your local "unfinished" furniture "mill" store...
They have tons of bar stools of various types

I got a couple of stools a few months ago and did a lot of looking around. there are what I got (you can get them at target, I got mine locally for cheaper even though it says web only):
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_4/602-5160167-0678215?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B0001Z5YTQ
Shopko also had these and one other local store that I saw did as well. Bed, Bath & Beyond had some unique ones I didn't see elsewhere. The web is pretty expensive actually in regards to what you can get. (I got the ones above on sale for $49.99 locally)
If you're looking for something basic, you can get them for ~$50-75. If you want nice ones, expect them to be at least $150 or more a piece. Good luck.

The Target sales flyer in the Sunday Boston Globe today advertises their stools on sale (24" and 36" wooden stools as well as their padded covers). I don't know if they runs the same sales across the country or not. The prices seem lower than what they could manufacture them at!

Make sure you measure before you purchase. I asked for 2 for xmas last year. I got them, but they are too short. :(

Menards has some great deals on bar stools (24"). From basic pine to really nice oak with swivel seats.
If you have a cocktail you might be interested in their 18" stools they have for Free after Rebate this week. 18" stools work good for cocktail cabs, but obviously not for uprights.
(Menards is a home improvement chain with better prices than Lowes or Home Depot, however they are only in the upper midwest)

do a google on "shop stool" and you'll find tons of them. They range around $70 - $120 bucks....
One day I'll pick up a pair of Corvette or Chevy stools with backs for my shop/arcade/garage :-)
Ebay for shop stool will work as well. Bar stool seems to bring up wooden stools that don't seem comfortable.
