Title: Soul Edge button problem.
Post by: BLACK KNIGHT on September 21, 2004, 08:12:30 am
I have a Tekken 2 arcade machine and I recently bought a Soul Edge board off of ebay.  They both have a System 11 board so it's suppose to be a perfect swap.  However there is 1 button a kick button that doesn't work on Soul Edge.  I made sure to plug the kick harness into the Soul Edge PCB.  I plugged Tekken 2 back in and all the buttons work fine.  Could the kick harness for the Soul Edge PCB be wired differently?  I thought it was standard like the JAMMA harness.

Hmmm,
Having a Tekken Tag & a Soul Calibur on the way this should be interesting. Anyway try this I noticed this on my Soul CAlibur II & Tekken IV setup the buttons are NOT identical. They could be other places on the kick harness. If you can try different pins and see what you get.

Check the pinouts, I seem to recall Soul Edge was funky about the 4th button and I remember doing some trace cutting and soldering action on mine to make it work the same as the rest of my boards.
