If you watch Pimp My Ride w/ Xzibit you may have seen this but...
There was this verry interesting looking van called a "Hijet" it's made by daihatsu (sp?). As one of the persons on the show described it, it kinda looks like a toaster on wheels!
I think I want to get one of these things but they don't realy appear to be sold much in the U.S. :-\
Anyone have tips on where to find such an uncommon vehicle as this?

Another...

And the "pimped" version...
-
I remember seeing that show, and I thought it was a Toyota Previa - early version.
I've seen a few Diahatsu's around here, but just the bland sedans so prevalent to upstart car companies...dunno where to get a van, unless you could have one freighted over from somewhere.
-
My brother has a GMC Paint Van that he wants to get done...
-
<wonders if he could MAME it>
-
thats a sexsay van

When I was in the Dominican I saw hundreds of those things, both the vans, and the pickup model (same front end, with a bed on the back). I'd imagine they aren't very expensive, hence why they were in such wide use down there. Maybe you could see about importing one form there?

Sombody ought to contact MTV and suggest a MAME-Mobile for Pimp My Ride! I'm bored with the PS2 installs! ::)

Me and a mate have talked about making a mini-cab for his (beautiful) '66 VW split-screen bus. Whether we'll ever do it is another matter...
Cool little vans tho :)

What? Scion? He sed itz a diahatsu...they gots dem ober hurr.
-
But I thought they were rare.
Now Im confused

Apparently Daihatsu (SP??) doesn't think it's the right type of vehicle for this economy or something of the sort. They aren't necessarily rare, but rare to the US. Get it?

Try one of these... www.scion.com
