Not sure if this has already been posted - PAPAS Flooded - Pinball Tragedy - :(
http://www.papa.org/flood.php
Post-flood damage pics are here - http://www.papa.org/flood/day2/
In the pic you can see that the water made it to about the middle of the backglasses.
From the PAPA website - "Two hundred and thirty-two pinball machines have been destroyed, as well as a handful of classic video games, the extremely rare Tattoo Assassins prototype, a sitdown Omega Race, [edit] Gorf, Sinistar, [/edit] some great dancing games, et cetera. We do expect to be able to salvage plastics, some boards, coin mechs, backglasses, and most of the playfield glasses. Nothing will be done until a professional cleanup and restoration company has been through the facility. "

sad to see :'( After a natural disaster runs through you never think about the loss in non-human life. I just hope they don't all end up on ebay with "minor water damage"

Latest News from PAPA
September 21, 2004
Our insurers have advised us that there will be no coverage for losses due to flood. Of course, the same insurers did not market flood coverage to anyone in the Carnegie area, as there has been no significant flooding in the past one hundred years. There is considerable outrage among homeowners and the local business community; many people have lost their homes and/or livelihoods, yet they are receiving nothing from insurers.
We are contesting this, of course, and in any case, we are proceeding with cleanup work. We have had many offers of assistance with this, but we are leaving the cleanup work to professionals. Please do not come out to the facility; it would only be a hazard that we don't want anyone to be exposed to. We are working to salvage parts from all of the games.

SAD NEWS INDEED. Now here is a suggestion, GET OUT OF THERE ......DON'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE....

Dang....So many good pins ruined. Thats horrible. At least the plastics and some other parts can be salvaged, those are always hard to come by these days.

That seems like such a sleazy loophole that the insurance companies have. They don't pay for damage due to floods under regular homeowners insurance, but they don't offer flood insurance in many places.
