Title: WTB: frontline controller (just like in Oscar's free box of stuff)
Post by: exibar on September 19, 2004, 07:40:01 pm
If the person that got Oscar's free box of parts is willing to sell that Frontline controller that was in the box, please send me a PM or e-mail.

  Thanks!

They can't be hard to create..  does anything use these besides Front Line?

I wonder if you could use them Forgotton Worlds.  I have a controller from that game and it is similar to the frontline one.  I have yet to hook it up and try it though.

Frontline is a very cool game.

The Taito 8 position rotary controller was also used in "Wild Western" as well as "Tin Star" . When hooking one of these up a switch needs to be wired in to cut the ground when not in use because the controller always has at least one microswitch engaged at all times.  MAME see's this control as an 8-way joystick. I have one of these on my first MAME cab as Frontline is one of my favorites. It was the pioneer for games like Commando and the Ikari series ect..
