I always though that there wasn't a set "time" that the devs waited to put in a game. I thought that as long as the game was still commercially viable, it would not be in MAME, but I could be wrong.
I don't know anything specifically about that game, but my bet is if it's possible to emulate, it probably will be at some point. Who knows when though.

I can wait. I guess :'(
I wonder if its one of the pc based games that mame is not emulating.
I just found out about them a few days ago. I am not sure what thay were talking about in the software forum
somethoing about 86 boards?????

correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't 'commercially available' mean anything that is still hired out? for instance, there is a raiden and a metal slug machine at my local fish and chip shop. i imagined that as soon as someone (who was interested in emulating) got hold of a motherboard then THAT was when it was emulated. after all, this is all a legal grey area. i can't imagine there would be a cutoff time when you are 'allowed' to pirate something!

Your definition is correct for commercially AVAILABLE... I said commercially VIABLE. You are right that there is no set time for this, but I do not mean that it is only emulated when there are no more machines in a commercial venue. Commercially viable games would be games that are still making money on a larger scale, ie Golden Tee is still making a lot of money, hence it is dumped and emulated, but not in MAME.
It is possible that this game is dumped already, but if it is still making money (at least in the MAME devs eyes), then it will not be included in MAME. So you're right Danny, there def isn't a timeframe heh. It seems to be much more of an objective decision of the MAME devs.

yeah, like i say games like raiden and metal slug are still making money so like you say it's an objective decision...

Just get the PC version of Deer Hunting USA. As when it ever comes out in Mame.. you'll probably need a fast machine to have it runn 100%.

what emulator runs the newer golden tee's?

None of them... Apparently Golden Tee 2K"whatever" has been emulated, as from 2K1 to now, it's just a chip change on the board. But the rom will never been released.
