What you are told to do is open up your TV and install a lil magnifiying glass. The Picture is of MUCH lower quality but its OK. wat would you expcet for that much money?

It says you dont have to open your tv up on their website and that you can go back to your old TV in seconds. I was just curious because if it did work pretty good I think it would be sweet to use on a Showcase cab. Just build a CP and Base and pull it out from the wall and have the screen on the wall.

its retarded. you put a cardboard box with a lens in it on the front of your tv. the image is projected from your tv, through the lens, onto whatever surface. it is usually really dim due to the limited brightness of your tv, and all images are reversed, due to the nature of the lens.

I ordered something like that off of ebay a while back. It's exactly like what Bgnome said, you construct a box arround your tv of cardboard or wood if you want to get real fancy, then you place a sheet magnifier about a foot away from the screen and aim it at a wall.
The disk was realy bad quality that it was burned on and it didn't last more than a couple months otherwise I would send you the files, sorry.
Your better off getting an overhead projector panel and doing something simmilar with that. Heck you could put a 300 watt halogen behind the panel it it would be bright as hell! If you fell like trying that out, search ebay for "projector panel [vga or svga your choice]" Expect to pay $150 at least for a decent panel but that's alot cheaper than a $1600 real prjector!

If you google, you'll find the plans for free. Basicly wood or cardboard boxes to prevent light leaking from the sides, and to allow you to adjust the distance of the fresnel (bad spelling I'm sure) lens from the screen of the TV or LCD.
If you look thru google enough, you'll discover there is no 6x lense available. There are 2x and 3x. Staples sells a 2x sheet magnifier for $6, which will work. The "sample" images (at least the ones on ebay) are faked with Photoshop.
Its a neat do-it-yourself project, but thats about it.
If you want to save some time/money... but the sheet magnifier from Staples. Turn the lights off in your computer room, and place it in front of your monitor. As you move it slowly away, you'll see a blurry upside down reflection on the opposite wall. With the box and a better lense, you can slightly improve on the quality of that image.

i bought it but never tried it out. The instruction i got explained how to adjust some wires inside the tv to reverse the image, but i didnt want to futz with it

You have to turn your TV upside down too. I tried it, but it didnt work very well.

To avoid opening the tv and reversing the picture or watching a mirror image on your wall you can just do what I did and stand the TV on it's back so that the screen is facing up and put a mirror at a 45

This essentially turns your TV into a projector.
THe problem is that most projectors are many times brighter than a TV screen in order to throw their image into t he wall. They als have much better qualtiy lenses.
So, yes this does work but the brightness and pricture qualtiy will stink.
I MIGHT pay five bucks for proper plans, but even then it would be a stretch.

Same your money and get a real projector.
