Title: Mad Catz Dreampad without Pre-drilled holes?
Post by: J_Talbain on September 05, 2002, 09:55:29 pm
Recently I bought a mad catz dreampad (orange shell with blue grip accents) off of ebay.  I opened it up and noticed that there were no holes on the pcb like there were on the ones on websites.  Also, the contacts were much smaller.  Anyone else have a dreampad like this?  If so, do you know if anything has changed (common ground, wiring problems, etc.) with this control pad from its counterparts?  Thanks in advance.

I doubt anything has changed, but you can send me a scan to look at for you if you like.

I've herd of people getting this verison of the madcatz pad also.  It should still be hackable (just not as easy as the original madcatz one).  Use a multimeter to verify the ground and button contacts.

This is the one of many Dreamcast sticks I soldered.  Definitely doable, but have good eye site.  You need to visually trace the paths to that central point you solder from.

Hope this helps.
