I followed the act-labs site directions for setup but all i got was wildly inaccurate shots--I'd be interested in hearing how it could be done. (i'm running mamewah with xp)
-
I thought T2 is an analog stick with a gun attached, not a light gun game? could be wrong
-
it has 2 mounted guns that act like giant joysticks, but T2 would be better to play with an act labs gun, so hopefully theres a way, thats onea the shotting games i was looking forward to with my act labs gun... ???
-
I have it running perfectly with 2 guns. First of all you need to disable the guns in mame.ini and calibrate with the mouse. 0,0 128,128 255,255
After calibration is done then just calibrate the guns normally and you are ready to go. You have to done the same with Revolutiuon X.
The only problem with the game is that you cannot hold down the trigger and move the gun back and forth, so your trigger finger gets pretty tired after a while.
BTW, I'm running mamewah with xp also. Make sure you are using mame analog+.

hmmm--I disabled the guns in mame.ini but i couldn't get mouse support to work--I tried configuring player 1 to mouse 4 (the real mouse) and it still wouldn't take any input--it didn't work with the keys either. I wouldn't normally try this hard but when i calibrate, it always gives me false hope by saying calibration successful--damn you arnie!

For all of you that play T2 in your cabs, do u use a joystick or gun?

The only problem with the game is that you cannot hold down the trigger and move the gun back and forth, so your trigger finger gets pretty tired after a while.
Is this a limitation of the act-labs gun only sending 1 pulse per trigger pull, or is there a config way around this?
-
The only way I've been able to play is to use the second button as a fire also.
Then hold that button for machine gun, and the first to move it.
It still sucks though.
-
ah i gotcha.... so what we want is a way of (optionally) making the gun auto-fire - white pulses and all. Is this an act-labs driver thing?
-
better solution (that I ended up doing) is buying 2 t2 guns. I now use them more then my lightgun!
Ok, I REALLY use it more because I bought a real arcade gun and am 1/2 of hacking my actlabs lightgun into the arcade gun.... After that, I might use that more often...
But getting the real guns is GREAT... also fun for 1 player john who style playing.

OH MAN!!!! I told you wrong... I'm a retard!
Use the Joysticks to calibrate, not the mouse. I'm sooooo stupid.
When you disable guns the joysticks can be used to calibrate in T2.
Sorry for the mis-information

I know this is probably 5 months too late, but I was searching around the forums and here's your solution.

Press F2 after starting T2, go to calibrate guns, use mouse to correctly calibrate, then restart game and wallah! your gun will work. Same with Revolution X.
-
I tried T2 with lightguns. You can get it to work with autofire mode, but you get a headache pretty quick with all the flashing. Positional is still the best way to go for machine gun games, until someone comes up with a gun that doesn't rely on screen flashing.
-
When you are playing you barely notice the flashing.
