its gonna be mounted on a diagnal. Any ideas on teh best way to do this?

when you say diagonal, do you mean:
1. Looking at the screen, you will be turning it 45

Take the monitor out of it's case. There are 4 mounting holes, 1 in each corner. Use those to mount to some wood. Only thing you have to worry about is the PCB (the board with all the electrical components on it). You can't just let it hang, so you're going to have to find a way to support it.

Don't you have to take the charge out of the monitor if you remove the casing? Or is that only for TVs?

i would think so...maybe he's trying to kill me

Just watch where you put your fingers ;)

Before I say anything, know that I've never mounted a monitor on a diagonal.
That being said, I don't think you have to take it out of the casing unless you want to. you could build bracing inside the cab with 2 (or more) beams going across the machine. These beams could be at the angle you wanted, and you can rest the monitor on there. With some careful measurements and deciding where the monitor should rest on the beam, it should work just fine. You'd need to support it well of course, but I'd think it was more than possible.

Does taking it out of the case really save on space? What would be the point otherwise?

if there is mounting brackets inside, then it would be a good idea, but im paranoid, so ill just work on a shelf to hold it in place.

I think I'm going with a shelf as well but if there is a real reason to open it up I will give it a shot...
