Title: adding buttons to a tron joystick
Post by: daywane on September 12, 2004, 10:03:45 pm
I have a working tron joystick. but I want to add 2 buttons to the front space. Mine has a open space. I do not have the sticker or any thing just empty space.
I have some ideas but before I do this I would like some other ideas on how any one has done this or thought of doing this.

What you need is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=6116336505&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=6116336505&rd=1)

The insert from a xenophone fits the tron joystick and uses 2 shallow "volcano" type buttons.

Alternately, you could make your own with some stiff plastic and small pushbuttons - like from radioshack.

You can find an article about creating a tron joystick at the above link, and theres a list of parts at that link that includes all of the parts needed to add the thumb buttons.
