Hello, I'm building a cabinet from the Project Arcade book. It says to use a 3/32" slot cutter router bit, but both tmolding.com and groovygamergear say that their molding uses 1/16".
The problem is I can find slot cutter bits anywhere around here. The book says there is a list of sources for the bit on the accompanying CD, but the list is all for controls - no listing for router bits like it claims.
Any suggestions? Where have you guys found these?
thanks!

3 wing slot cutter. width of cut - 1/16". Buy the complet set unless you have the arbor and bearing already.

I ordered mine through Lowe's. They carry Bosch router bits and can get the slot cutters. I ordered both a 1/16" and a 5/32" cutter and a single arbor. So far I've used the 5/32" more because the T-molding I have fits it better.

Has anyone had any experience with the t-molding from www.dreamarcades.com?
If so, what size slot cutter should I use to install it?

Tailgunner, do you remember how much the 1/16" slot cutter was through Lowes? I have a couple fairly close.
The link in the post before yours has them for $16 including for the whole thing and $12 for just the blade part.
thanks!

I ordered mine through MLCS. Quality is pretty good, price is king with them. I can also say that the shipping time was excellent. Two days from order to door. I think they are in Ohio (I'm in CT). I also had a goof up on my order, they called me, and I asked a few questions - all answered promptly. Great company.
I tried ordering the bit first from HP and Lowes, both failed horribly. Of course most of the tool folks seem to be a tad too busy to take orders for me (on tools) when I go there.

As I remember I paid about $40 for a 1/2" shank arbor and both blades. MLCS would be $38 for the same deal, seems pretty comparable to me. I didn't have the ordering issues Derek had, but then I deal with them a lot and know who to talk to at my store. I ordered on monday and had it by the following friday. YMMV. ;)

I went ahead and ordered the 1/16" set from MLCS. Seems like the best price and free shipping.
Thanks to everyone for the info!

I assume you ordered part #5341 for $16 with free shipping.
From the knowledgable crowd, is this all that is needed to cut the T-molding slots or are there other pieces required as well.
A couple posts back, the guy mentioned $36 was needed.

The $16 deal should be all you need if your T-molding fits a 1/16" slot. Mine ended up needing a 5/32" slot, so ordering the other size cutter blade ended up saving me time and extra shipping charges. In a pinch you could offset a the cutter a little, make a pass, then offset it the other way to end up with a 5/32" slot if you needed it.
I did screw up the math, MCLS sells the cutters for $16 with an arbor and $12 without. Buying both sizes through them would be $28, not $38.

Cool, thanks. I appreciate the help. That's a pretty good deal and the free shipping is excellent.
