Is there any reason that the 2-1/4" Happs trackball is about $64 and the one over at Ultimarc is only $28??? Why the huge price difference?
-
All I know is that I think my ultimarc 2.25 is awesome.
-
I have always wondered about this also. All I know is that everyone seems to love their Ultimarc ones.
-
I have had both and although the happs does seem to be of better construction I certainly don't think it is quite worth the price difference. I notice no difference in play between the two.
-
Damn! I could of saved $60. I didn't know ultimarc sold those, I only bought my ipac from them.
-
I've had great service from Ultimarc! I've been on the fence about a trackball, but think I may go with Ultimarc due to the quality & service I've received thus far. This thread reminded me of them carrying the trackballs.
I only wish they had a translucent blue! :( Anyone know if there is a replacement ball available that would work with the Ultimarc?

Yep, any 2-1/4 ball will work - Bob Roberts http://www.therealbobroberts.com/ has them for $15.00. You could also use billiard balls or there was also a thread a while back about acrylic juggling balls.

I cant even believe happ sells trackballs when theres that big of a price difference, im definately buying one from ultimarc.
-
I agree with everyone else here. I am building my second cab and I used Ultimarc for my trackball. I still can't get over how great of service they give. I have not had any problems at all and I tell ya Andy is by far the best buisness owner around.
For the ball I used the translucent with glitter juggling ball works great can't wait to see how it looks complete.

Hey soulcon, what ball on that site did you use exactly? I only see 3 inch and 2 1/2" on the site, and the Ultimarc is 2 1/4"
Do the 2 1/2" balls fit? i wouldn't think they do, but some of those balls are pretty cool.

Go look again. I don't see any 2 1/2" balls on there. Only 3" and 2 1/4".

OK, cool I' think I'm going to get most everything from ultimarc - 2.25 trackbal, t-stik plus, minipac, etc...

No, I also looked. They list 3" and 2.5" (and one 2.75").

Sorry, I must be blind! PLEASE help me find the 2

The Ultimarc trackball is great! I can see no reason to buy a Happ 2 1/4" trackball when the Ultimarc is available.
I also bought a translucent blue trackball from Bob Roberts. The only problem it that the translucent ball is a bit lighter in weight than the stock ball, so it doesn't roll quite as well. But I'm sure you would run into this with a Happ as well.

Thanks for posting! I guess that seals the deal for me... It's Ultimarc! It seems like I shop all around and keep coming back to Ultimarc. :) I wish they carried Spinners too!

I also feel that Ultimarc provides excellent service.
But partially due to the fact the US dollar is taking a krap in the outhouse,
the Ultimarc trackball is $35 now + $12 shipping.
For those that will be getting a translucent ball also, thats another $15 bucks.
Which brings the total to around ~$62.
At eBay, you can get a 2 1/4" translucent Happs trackball for around $48 + shipping.
So there's no clear winner on which is a better buy.
-
OUCH on the shipping! I wonder if they'll make me a deal, since Im buying a IPac4, Optipac, 40+ buttons, 2 TBs, 4 joysticks, etc all at the same time. You think that qualifies for FREE shipping??? Hmmm.....

$12 is just the min shipping cost. Its NOT $12/per.
Actually, its reasonable when you place a big order.

What about Betson Imperial Track balls? I hear they are supposed to be good too. Iman-tis on ebay sells 3" Imperial trackballs for $29 on ebay plus $8 dollars shipping. You could then get a Trasnlucent ball from BobRoberts for $15 and you would have a 3" trackball for $52 dollars instead of a 2-1/4".

Ok, I'm confused....
Why did you bump a 2 month old thread when there are at LEAST 4 or 5 other trackball threads on the first page alone?
And to top it off, you didn't add anything to it, you just said "bump"..... for no reason.
