I was thinking of having background music play along with the arcade ambiance sounds it would all have to be 1980-1986 and I would have it play randomly help out my list....
1, Pat Bentar : Hit me with your best shot
2, Joan Jett : I love rock and roll
3, Bob Seger : Old time rock and roll
4, Tommy Tutone : 867-5309
5, Toni Basil : Micky
6, J. Geils Band : Centerfold
7, Billy Joel : Uptown Girl
8, Blondie : Call Me
9, Lipps Inc. : Funkytown
10, Queen : Another one bites the dust
And
Buckner and Garcia : Pacman Fever
-
Judas Priest : Breaking the Law
-
lol thats pretty funny, they do the same thing in the "retro" section of this arcade i go to. theres a big back room dimly lit with some black lights and stuff, and they play 80s music and have 80s movie posters like breakfast club and back to the future on the walls, its pretty cool
-
Twisted Sister: We're not gonna take it
Iron Maiden: Run To The Hills
Van Halen: Jump
Alice Cooper: Schools Out
Dead Kennedys: I fought the law
Iggy Pop & The Stooges: Lust for life
Alice In Chains: Rooster
Metalica: Sanitarium
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Under The Bridge
Just a few that I remembered from the 80's. I won't feel hurt if you don't add them. Just venting :p

Anything from the Beastie Boys 1st album.
-
Guns -n- Roses: Sweet Child o' Mine
Quiet Riot: Cum on feel the Niose
Frankie Goes To Hollywood: Relax
Tears For Fears: Everybody Wants to rule the World
Harold Faltermeyer (sp?) :Axel F (Beverly Hills Cop Theme)
Paul Hardcastle: 19 (I hated this one, but it played all the time at the local arcade)
Journey was still pretty popular then, too.
-
Dead Kennedys: I fought the law
What about California Uber Alles?
-
isn't 'i fought the law' by The Clash? or did dk do a cover? 'viva las vegas' would be a cool cover from them...
Mi sex- computer games. that's a classic
Yello- oh yeah!!
Rough trade- all touch
-
I thought it would be a good idea too. Although I'm not sure how to implement the way I want to do it. Maybe Minwah could add this to Mamewah???
Here's my thread on the subject: http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=24404
I'd like the music to be chosen by year field in the ID3 tags.

Close enough.
and DK did do a version of I fought the law
BTW:
consider the theme from my favorite show (Cops) by Inner Circle.
-
I'm going to go anti-establishment and anti-PC
Circle Jerks - Patty's Killing Mel
How can you hate a band with a name like that?
Also
The Church - Fire Woman
The Scorpions - Blackout
Ratt - You Think You're Tough (although pick any of their hits, I liked 'em all)
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Van Halen - Panama
Sweet - Ballroom Blitz (that was Sweet, right?)
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
Ozzy - Crazy Train (take your pick off of Blizzard Of Ozz)
Billy Thorpe - Children Of The Sun
Billy Squire - Everybody Wants You
Dio - The Last in Line, Holy Diver
Dokken - Tooth and Nail
AC/DC - TNT (but take your pick of whatever else)
That's what I've got off the top of my head.
-
Oh, and Mother by Danzig. Great song that I totally forgot. *phew*
maybe something from misfits too or ramones

I wish I was born like 5-10 years earlier. I was born in '83 and was not quite old enough to hang out in the arcade while they were still cool like that.
When I build my own house some day the basement is going to have and arcade all (whattever the word for PIMPED OUT was back in the '80s)! Yea, that's going to be cool.
-
man, how could i have forgotten Van halen- hot for teacher (just love that intro drumming) and the tune with the BEST video clip ever DuranDuran- girls on film. you just cant go past topless jelly-wrestlers in my opinion...
edit: ooh, ooh! and judas priest- turbo lover. and UK squeeze- cool for cats (",)
edit: not to mention romeo void- never say never!!
-
Yes, Hot for teacher is classic.
But the whole song would be a little much for bg music, wouldn't it?

You think they were once cool?
Does this mean Woodstock wasn't as cool as I thought it was?
