Title: A few questions about the ArcadeVGA and Videoamp...
Post by: stellarola on September 08, 2004, 04:05:18 pm
Hey guys, I just recently purchased an ArcadeVGA from a friend and it's being shipped to me. I just had a few questions about setting it up...

1. Do I have to install the included drivers before I can hook it up to the monitor, or do I need to use a PC monitor to install drivers first?

2. Im using the Ultimarc Video Amp, Do I just connect the R,G,B, Sync, and ground?

Thanks in advance, also my monitor is a WG 25k7191.

The ArcadeVGA card will not display a picture on a PC monitor. You need to have an arcade monitor connected from the start. You will get boot screens, and Windows, without any drivers. Then install the drivers to enable all the resolutions and colour depths.
You will only need RGB and sync yes. On the W-G monitors, composite sync is connected to the -H sync input.

setup what you can now if you want, then when the arcade VGA card comes in and you're ready to use your 25k7191, you can hook it right up to the AVGA card.  If you're running windows XP, the XP drivers will work enough to get you going and allow you to install the AVGA drivers.
