while looking for a stepdown converter for my Japanese cabinet ive come across this warming.
IMPORTANT: Transformers do not convert cycles (60Hz North America vs. 50Hz foreign), and some international appliances may not operate normally when used in North America. These include, but are not limited to: microwave ovens, analog clocks, motorized electric typewriters, televisions and turntables. Consult the appliance manufacturer if you have any questions.
of concern is the television reference, an arcade monitor is pretty much the same if not more finicky. how can convert the frequency?
i know many japanese cabs work without incident on US current, but i want to do this right

*Eastern Japan 50 Hz (Tokyo, Kawasaki, Sapporo, Yokohoma, and Sendai); Western Japan 60 Hz (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Hiroshima)
so it would appear i would need to know where the cabinet resided to supply the correct frequency of current.
man this is confusing.. lol
