Project Arcade is such a great book... very helpful ;D.
I would appreciate help in locating the purple ball top joysticks as seen in Chapter 3 of Project Arcade and in the companion cd.
Figure 3-10& 3-12 have pics of a purple balltop joystick. I am wondering where this was purchased at? I'm assuming it may be Happ Controls, in fig 3-12 the pic says "used by permission of happ controls". I went to the Happ controls and ultimarc website and couldn't find anything. It looks like a longer balltop stick, what type of control panel is it most suitable for? Do you have a part number and title???
I would love to have a purple joystick and matching buttons, do these ball top joysticks match any other purple buttons.
Thanks for your help

It looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joystick. But I'm not sure about the length, leaf vs micro, exact color. TMNT had a purple joystick, that is all I know.
That looks like a Wico base though.
Sorry I'm not much help.

All the wild color balltop sticks were usually Wicos. Wico sticks were mostly red, but specific games often had them in all sorts of different colors.
Purple is from TMNT. The Donatello one IIRC.
Only way you are getting one is used, they don't make them anymore.

Actually I'm restoring a TMNT: Turtles In Time cab and happened to come across a ebay auction where he was selling brand new stainless steel joysticks just like these of all colors. This was a while ago though, so I e-mailed him yesterday again to see if he still has any in stock (he can also order more for a little bit more $$ apparently). So I'll let you know what he says in case anyone else needs some, because these are a !@#$% to find trust me.

What's that website? Is it the guy Tom with this address N2NEW@aol.com who makes replica joysticks and plastic shells?
