Title: Quick speaker question?
Post by: BarontheFirst on September 06, 2004, 11:06:23 pm
Are the 30 watt 4" speakers from HappControls any good? If not does anyone have some ideas they could through at me since this is my first cabinet.  How about the 12 watt 5" or 4" speakers they have. I really only plan to rip the amp out  of a cheap set of comp speakers from like radio shack. So please give me a bit of help with this choice since I will have to look at it every day!

HELLO!
I don't think so, 4" or 5" is not a speaker issue.speakers just
quality optimise and looks powerfull with their no of watts...
I am not sure about these speakers but i know they will be much
better then the cheap set of PC,s speakers...
another way to save money is to change just speakers ,but not
amp..Use the same amp with some 5" speakers...

To make a sound quality in my advise
You should use PC's speakers with more watts...like 300watts etc.

I also set Zoltrix 300 subwoofers in my cab.

The 12 watt 4" shielded speakers hacked to a PC speaker amp is what I used during my upright cab construction some 18-24 months ago. I also picked up speaker covers from Happs.

Sounds good for arcade cab.

I also use this cab as MP3 jukebox (until I get around to completing my juke project) and the music quality is okay too especially for the price.

$20 speaker pair + free hacked pc set I had collecting dust at the time.
