Title: Super Dodge Ball Hangs Up
Post by: roybfr on September 06, 2004, 10:33:11 pm
Was wondering what could be causing this, do I possible have a bad Rom (game from one of the free mame rom burners on DVD) or is there other things to look at. Of the other games that I have played all the ones that are listed as good have worked so it kind of points to the game. any suggestions.

Well I tried it on my other computer and it locks up as well. It locks up in Mamewah right after I hit the load button.

We hates errors. Lets try to make one happen! (tries)

Well... that's interesting.

I'm using .83 with a matching ROM set and MAMEWAH .97. I get a DOS "bad dump - press any key" message, but the game runs fine after that.

The Neo Geo one runs fine too.

Are you set up too see the DOS window upon starting the rom? Maybe that's the probem. If not then I'm stumped.

No, that is a flag in the Mamewah cfg right? "Show DOS Box", I guess that I need to change the 2 to a 1. I will give that a try tonight and see where it gets me.

Thanks

Well that was it, turned on the dos box and there was anther message. I need to figure out it there is a way to stop it so that I don't have to look at the dos box as it kinda kills a little of the arcade elusion of the cab.

I am still having problems with Mille Miglia 2, says some files or not found so I need to probably run clrmame and see whats up.

Thanks

I've tried enabling the Auto-Show feature, but the DOS box will not appear for any games (including bad dumps.) Is it a known bug in v.0.97 that this feature doesn't work properly?

(Note: Although Auto-Show works fine in v.1.5, I am sticking with the older one for the time being, due to a few minor issues with the new version.)
