Title: Do I need a video amp?
Post by: durak on September 06, 2004, 06:38:47 am
The monitor is a Japanese Kaga electronics (made by Nanao) KZ-18EN.
I looked around the chassis board, and there was written something like "R GAIN, G GAIN, B GAIN" on it. Could this mean it doesn't need an amplifier?

You can see pictures of the chassis and other information about it on this manual:

Unfortunately I can't check it, DSL at my home hasn't been working lately and this damn library computer doesn't open up the file.

I appreciate the help, I hope next time I get online I can get an answer and then proceed with my order on Ultimarc. (Need to do this at a friend whom I know has a secure computer, don't feel like using my credit card on a public computer..)

The presence of gain controls doesn't mean you don't need a video amp.

A monitor that does not require a video amp will work fine if you use a video amp anyway. If you will be using a JPAC (which has a built in video amp), you don't need to worry about it.
