My cab is 17" wide, so fluorescent bulbs are nearly out of the question.
I was thinking of using CCFL bulbs to light the marquee.
They are 12" long, come in nearly every color, and are very cheap.
My question is, should I get white, colored, or UV?
UV would be great, but are there any printers that use UV ink?
Would kinkos do this?
I should probably design a marquee first.....

I've bought from them before and they are great.

Call me crazy, but...
Why would fluorescent not be an option?

Any hardware store has flourescents in a range of sizes. The local Ace carries 12"ers that you wire direct for like $10.00. That'd work fine in your 17" cabinet. Is your cabinet really 17" or is that a typo? Regardless, you shouldn't have any problem finding a flourescent that'll fit fine at any decent hardware store.

yes, it's really 17".
It's an assault cab.
I looked at menards, but i really should check a decent hardware store.
The CCFL bulbs are only about $7 shipped, and they don't flicker, so I'm still leaning towards them.

That is a sweet cab. I actually bought those exact kits from svc (one of the dual kits with 2 12" tubes). I went for the white, unfortunately unless you can hold off a while for an opinion I'm not going to be much help because I haven't install them yet.

I just bought 2 12" flourescent strips yesterday, one went in my cab and the other went under my kitchen cabinet, problem is the one in the kitchen got insanely hot!! I have not checked the one in the cabinet just yet.
I would suggest you check the operating temperature befor enclosing it.
