Post by: Producer on September 04, 2004, 01:35:26 pm
I am using a happs button with the Happs switch through an ipac interface.

My problem is that The button does not stay ON when I hold it down.  Any ideas????  I want to drag windows and use specific games that require a mous button on

Thanks

(Ipac?  Or Opti-pac?  Ipac does keyboard keys, Optipac does mice.)

Make sure the button and TB are wired to the same mouse.  Windows can't do a button held down on mouse while moving a different mouse (unless mice are merged in hardware before sending info to computer).

Also, test the button in mame.  Play something that needs a button held down, and see if mame sees the button as pressed (without moving anything and with).  If the button is only momentary, then either somethings up with your wiring, or you're using the i-pac & some key2mouse app that doesn't hold down keys.  If the button is held down in mame, see first advice.

Not true.
I'm running winXP with a ps/2, and two usb mice with no problems.

They behave just like one mouse.

This might sound stupid, but are they momentary contact pushbuttons? happ has a some that look like their normal pushbuttons.  Just a suggestion if nothing else works. I would also say to doublecheck your wiring and the microswitch for continuity just to rule out any hardware failure.
