Title: Anyone use XP onscreen keyboard?
Post by: Apollo on September 04, 2004, 04:34:36 am
Seems like this would be a great idea for cabs. I'm sure there are people out there using it.
Basically as I see it all you would need to make the cab really clean would be a wireless mouse and to use the XP on screen keyboard for admin etc.
Being such a hopeless noob I only just discovered it today so was wondering if anyone had gone this way and whether there were any problems involved with this method of cab control?

I have XP professional--how do you access the onscreen keyboard??  I would really like to take advantage of that feature.  How do you do it?
Thanks.

So you used the onscreen keyboard to type "osk"?  ;)

This is a nice find by the way.  I didn't know about this.

Download the attached file "OSK.txt", rename the file to "OSK.rar" and extract.

Beutiful little OSK program that was designed for use with CarPCs and the like.  You can easily make your own skin for it and configure buttons if I recall correctly.  If you want more information on it, I found it at www.mp3car.com but you'll have to search for it yourself as I don't remember exactly where I found it.

That is an excellent idea.  Isn't it kinda clunky though?  I guess it is better than having no keyboard in a cab though.

Oh oooops, well as I said I am an old time gamer but a bit of a PC noob, and I haven't seen it mentioned here before. Maybe I should have used the search function.
And shame on you guys for taking the piss! LOL.
