Looks like you'll be upgrading to Mame .87 shortly...

Ah, you beat me to it.

...and it's certainly not without it's flaws. It's playable now, but it states in the beginning that the video and sound are not 100%. I can confirm the sound, unless it's supposed to do this...
Playing Dig Dug arrangement, I got a bonus item, and a high pitched whine came out of the speakers. Didn't turn off. Finally exited the game to get it to stop.

In that case I will not be updating. I don't play games that aren't emulated correctly.

It's a noted error. Might be fixed by .87.

why is it that some games that work correctly in an earlier version don't work properly in a later version? and it's not because there is a different dump, surely? take the dig dug example. from what i read on these forums and the mame32 forum, there are ongoing probs that if gone by the next version are replaced with different probs!! i feel no incentive to upgrade from 0.78. the only reason i would is if there is a game that's not emulated in 78 but is on a later version.
anyway, just thought i'd rant about something other than politics for once ;D

Dig Dug in itself is fine. It's the Dig Dug that comes with Namco Classics that's showing problems. The driver just came out of 'not working' status.
