Anyone know where I can buy carriage bolts for Joystick installation in Canada? I need them about 1" or so... whatever the standard size is.
I drove around to about 8 different places yesterday in the Vancouver area and couldn't find squat!
Any help would be much appreciated, I'm looking for 30 or so...
Thanks!!

I have never had any trouble finding these, where are you looking? The True Value hardware store a 1/2 mile from my house has them.

I checked all the usual suspects including local distributors (including Home Depot, Princess Auto, KMS Tools, Atkinsons), places like that. I even asked all of them if they knew a place... but nothing.
They didn't have them small enough unfortunately! They only had 1/4" when I needed 3/16".
I'm going to go check Home Hardware and Haney Builders now.

Add Revy, Home Hardware, and Tim-Br-Mart to the list of no shows! Wow, this is definitely one part that I didn't think would be very difficult to find.
I bought some 1/2" ones, but they are huge... so I bought some 3/16" metal screws and will use those until I can find the proper ones!

I would suggest that you visit Pacific Fasteners on 1st avenue in Burnaby, about 2 blocks east of Boundry road South side of the street. They only sell corrosion resistant products but that is where I got my stainless steel stove bolts for my trackball and joysticks. Standard lengths are no problem, but they don't have really long ones in the small diameters.
I have found their prices to be very good. Stainless steel NyLoc nuts are cheaper there than steel ones are at Home Depot.
Hope that helps.

Holy, I just ordered 40 of the #10 1 1/2" carriage bolts from Pacific Fasteners... they are not quite as cheap as I would have thought. $29.50 CDN for 100 plus around $8.00 for shipping. But at least I have them now!
