Is there a demand for Atari Centipede Cabs. They are original cabs with sideart painted over with black paint. I never stripped paint before so I do not know how they will turn out. Assuming I can get for cheap and assuming sideart comes out ok, are these still sought after cabs?
I can also purchase an asteroids cab with sideart in pretty good condition - game is now a golf game.
Also, I saw a cab with Stern Astro Invaders sideart - has time piot in it now.
Once again, assuming they are cheap, is there any value to any of these beyond the typical $50.00 non-working cab rate.
I cannot post any pics.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

The Centipede sideart show be relatively easy to remove the paint from. 3M Safe Stripper does an excellent job on Latex paint, and does virtually nothing to the vinyl-based sideart.

Buy them if you want them, otherwise not. Painted over Centipedes are not really sought after cabinets, Centipede is one of the 10 most common games around.
Converted vector cabs are nothing special.
Time Pilot is better than Astro Invaders!

How much is a non-functional, but complete original Asteroids cabinet worth?

Can't price it without seeing it. But figure $150 to $600

Thanks, that's helpful. My dad had one and it was sold for $400. I just wanted to make sure he didn't get ripped off.
