Hey all,
I just bought a cabinet on the weekend. It is pretty much complete, except game board. It houses a 32" monitor. My problem is that i am not sure if it works or not. I have turned on the machine, and the monitor makes that ultra high noise (coils?) so it sounds like its getting power. Anyone have any idea how i can test this monitor to see if its worth keeping??? I am stuck for ideas. I have a good knowledge of electronics, and my dad is an electronic engineer, but he is away at the moment and I am very impatient. Please advise any advice or ideas you have for me. thanks in advance.

quick and dirty way to see if the tube is getting power is if you see an orange'ish glow in the neck of the tube--you know its getting power--whether its a good picture or not...well, you really need a game or somesuch to tell that.

I did have a look but it was not glowing orange, then again i had the cabinet out in the sun, so it may have been hard to tell.
