Title: How to Wire Pinball Buttons?
Post by: Biff Byford on August 28, 2004, 06:58:28 pm
I'm wiring up my UAII 4-player control panel as we speak. I've installed four extra buttons on the face for pinball. Should these be wired to their own ports on the iPac or wired to other controls (e.g., fire button for player 1, etc.).

Thanks!

if you have available spot on IPAC, yea. I have mine set for R.Shift, L.Shift for Pinball Flippers.
But if you don't have spare spot, can you double it with your choice.

I don't see any benefit to wiring them separately, unless you fear them getting hit accidentally during gameplay.

Mine are all wired in conjunction with the regular buttons.

Lets you skip having to program either the I-Pac or MAME to correspond to the buttons.

It doesn't really matter what you connect them to on the I-pac.  You can run visual pinmame directly, go to the options tab and set the buttons for which ever you have wired them to.  In visual pinball, you just select "Right Flipper" and then hit the button you want set to it.  Makes it very easy!!!
