Did you also do a fresh install of MAMEWAH?
If copied then try a fresh install and make sure you have the .NET stuff if not it will not start up

Ahhhh... I totally forgot about the .NET framework!
Yes, the system was formatted and completely re-done from scratch... thus, no .NET framework...
you da man! :-)
thanks!

Darn, it's still doing the same thing :-(
I've uninstalled and re-installed MameWah from scratch, and when I click on the icon, the screen flickers for a breif second and nothing...
I can see MameWah go into the process list under task mamager, but then it goes right back out. It's never running for more than half a second....
This is on a scratch install XP pro, on a PIII800 w/512 RAM...
I've tried using mamewah setup as well, that runs fine, but doesn't help my problem :-(
thanks all!

interesting, I applies XP SP2 and now mamewah runs fine..... strange because I know that mamewah runs fine wihtout XP2 as it's running fine on this machine....
interesting..
perhaps there is something in SP1 that is needed by mamewah?

In SP1 and SP2 you do get updated Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL's). Maybe one of the DLL's was hosed. I have Mamewah running on one of my cabs which doesn't have SP1 or SP2 on it.
hey as long as it works......

Just to confirm MAMEWAH does *not* require .NET framework!
Also, (in theory at least), it does not require XP SP1 or SP2 (obviously SP2 has only just come out). MW ran before SP1 even came out...
Can't really explain why it didn't work before, glad it works now tho :)
