Hi guys.
After wanting one for over a decade, our office finally dropped the cash on a 36" printer.
I wonder how much interest there would be in large prints, either for sideart of cps or marquees. I mentioned the idea to my employer, and he had _some_ interest in providing a service like that.
The way it would probably work is you would email me the artwork and paypal the money, and I would mail the print in a tube. I would not be spending any time tweeking the image or doing any of the graphics work.
It's an old printer, so you can see the dots, especially in light colors, and we probably won't be printing on anything other than paper any time soon.
If you would be interested in using this service, what prices seem fair to you (not counting postage)?

Regular paper.....no one would buy
Double bonded thick paper.... maybe 2 buck a sq foot
Photo paper.... 3-5 bucks a sq foot
(this is not including mailing tube I think)

Oh, I can see how I'm "confused."
Our "regular" paper is what HP sells as "heavy coated." It's about 28#, and very bright.
I also have tracing paper on rolls, which has shown great promise in tests. I'm thinking that tracing paper,when laminated, might be very good for backlighting.
We've recently found a place that does laminating with very heavy media. The final product feels like a sheet of plastic. They get $2 a foot for the laminating.
