This sounds to me like such a newbie question, but I haven't found an answer and its driving me crazy. I should probably look longer, but I have to go to work.
I have a Happs Trackball with 3 button mouse interface. In Mame32, each button is recognized correctly (button 1 is 0, 2 is 1 and 3 is 2). In commandline mame, button 1 is 0, button 2 is 2 and button 3 is 0.
Does anyone know a quick way to fix this? Have you seen it before?
Thanks
P.S. FINALLY troubleshooting my *almost* done first cab!!!

OTTOMH, I bet it's that mame is compiled with the directInput version var set to 7.0, and mame32 directInput var is set to 5.0.
Recompile one or the other, with the dinput defined to 7.0 . Easiest to change mame32, as this is set in src/ui/ui.mak, IIRC.

Mame32 is the one that works, but it is an older version. I'm sorry, but yout explanation was greek to me. sorry, not much of a compiler. Is anyone running 0.86 with the three Happ Mouse buttons working right???
Please let me know one way or the other.

I hate bumping myself, but with the exception of barfsomething in the Mame.net forum, I haven't received any replies on whether anyone else is having this problem. Please, just let me know if anyone else is having this problem and if not, what build are you using. You can save me hours of frustration if I find out it is build related and not my set-up. Otherwise, I will try everything yet again and blow my Saturday.

Drew, if you answer I'll stay home and watch the convention on TV!
If you both answer, I will march in my living room wearing a red t shirt while watching the Convention on TV.
