Basically, I've managed to get MAMEWah up and configured with a layout I like. I just would appreciate a little help with getting some information into MAMEWah to display. I have used MAMEWah setup and see the tab about game information, etc., but can't figure out how to get the information in there without typing it all in. I know there's an easy way - can someone point me in the right direction? I would be so happy just to have the game names display correctly (rather than their filenames) and any info after that is a bonus... ???

Set the List Generation Method accordingly...'ROM Folder vs Listinfo' for MAME v0.83 or previous, or 'ROM Folder vs DAT File' for later versions - see the FAQ here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=740&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
...for how to make a dat. Then refresh the games list...

Aah, thank you; I think I got caught by creating a list with .82 on my main machine and running .85 on my MAME machine. It was very frustrating. By the way, should the list file be like 20 megs?!?!

Mine for 0.85 is 16.1 megs.

i've been trying to create a dat file for mamewah and whenever i type what the faq says in the command prompt, it says "xml2info is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file". anyone know what's causing this?

You need xml2info.exe to be in your mame folder - it comes with mame, perhaps you didn't extract it ?

the file is in my mame folder

ok i finally created it. i'm not sure what i was doing wrong except maybe not putting a space btween the ">mame.dat". i'm not sure if that would have cganged anything, but that's all i can think of at the moment.
edit: should the dat file be in my mame folder or maewah folder?
