Title: Will updating mame mess up mamewah?
Post by: simplygriff on August 25, 2004, 04:42:42 pm
I'm using MAME 0.82 and want to upgrade to 0.86 so I can play virtua fighter.  WIll this mess up my mamewah settings or anything else I have if I simply swapout the .exe flies?

You might want to create a new .dat  game list file?

Yep, then refresh the main list.

Note that any of your filters will be reset, so you'll need to re-generate those (at least to reflect the changes).

How do I get a new .dat game list file?  I noticed some issues with this when I tested it out on my work computer yesterday.

in a command prompt get to your mame folder and type "mame -listxml | xml2info >mame.dat"

Thank you very much!

I just found some other info posted by Minwah here just in case anyone ever pulls up this thread later.
