I have a digital projector in my room which displays around a 100" image. I wanted to build a supergun type thing so I could play my JAMMA boards on it.
To do that I need some kind of converter to change it to VGA such as the XRGB2. Now, from what i've read the original XRGB2 is no longer being made and has been replaced with the XRGB2 Plus. I noticed that the original had a swtich to chose PCB if you were using a JAMMA board, and the XRGB2 Plus does not. Someone who was selling an original XRGB2 also told me the newer "Plus" version doesn't support the ability to connect a JAMMA PCB to it. I'm not sure if he was just saying this so I would buy his, or if its true. It seems like they would have just made the switching automatic in the Plus or something. I don't see a techical reason why it wouldn't work. Is any of this true?
Also, I found THIS (http://www.converters.tv/products/converters/rgb_converters/102.html) converter too. Does anyone know how this compares to the XRGB2 Plus?
Thanks

Sorry, but projectors won't work with lightgun games. They typically use a 100hz refresh rate. Also the contast is to low for guns to calibrate properly. I tried everything to get my dreamcast lightgun to work with a digital projector to no avail.

Fortunatly i'm not a big fan of lightgun games, all of my games are standard joystick games (mostly fighting games).
What kind of projector do you have? I have the Infocus X1 DLP projector.
But back to the question at hand, will the XRGB2 Plus work with my PCB's?

I may be mistaken, but I don't think mastakaz is talking about light guns... Isn't a supergun just some funky term for an arcade machine without the "machine". If I recall correctly it's basically a jamma harness or something similar along with some buttons a joy and a video output.

Ohhhhhhh, now i see why you were talking about light guns.
Yeah, a "Supergun" is what they call the little rigs people make so they can play their PCB's on a standard TV. Basically it's a PCB connected to a power supply and a RGB to NTSC composite/svideo card.
Well instead of hooking it up to my TV I want to connect it to my projector, which would be just like connecting it to a VGA monitor, so I need something to convert the RGB signal to VGA... which is where the XRGB-2 comes into play. I just want to make sure it'll work.
