I am planning my control panel soon, it will be a 4 player on an ultimate arcade 2 cab. What I need to know is, from the outside edges of the cabinet bottom (UA2) how far from the outside edges does the control panel stick out each way, I am not looking for a specific answer, as all are alittle different, Im just looking for a rough estimate to start with. The width of the cabinet is 28 and 1/2 inches, what is a good estimate in inches on how far to make the control panel stick out on each side?

10 - 3/4" on each side :) (personally I think its sized to perfection ... it's smaller than the SlikStik "Quad" ;) )

you've seen mine, although it's only a 2 player franken panel it sticks out only 7 1/2 inches on either side.

Ill probably go with 9 inches, right in between your 2 answers.

I'll measure it tonight.
I'm going to be rebuilding mine. 27" screen that close is too much. I'm going to build it further out, and widen it quite a bit. I don't like the angle of players 3 and 4, hard to play total carnage, smash tv, other two joystick games.

I have a decent sized 2 player panel with 4-way and trackball, and it only sticks out about 2-3 inches on either side on a 27" wide cab.
