Title: Screwed up ArcadeVGA problem *******

Hello all,

I hooked up my arcadevga card to my 19" Wells Gardner K4951 monitor and all I get is horizontally rolling picture. with a "garbled" image. I can see the general Windows colors while its booting up, but it constantly rolls with a completely screwed up picture.

I have tried reversing the horizontal and vertical inputs, but it's still pretty much the same.

This is an original monitor from a Q*Bert machine, so there is no way that it is H/V sync, is there? When I pulled the orginal Q*Bert wires from the monitor board, the Horizontal and Vertical definately had different inputs.

Any ideas?

Please help. I am sooo close!

Have you tried adjusting the hsync and vsync pots?

OK, after endless knob turning I finally got a picture, but it is split in half. The adustments only allow me to move the picture about 10% in either direction. How the heck do I get a full screen image?????

Remember this is a Q*Bert, so it is a vertically mounted horizontal monitor.

When I wake up, I am going to try to connect my cables to the -H/V inputs as opposed to the +H/V inputs which they are connected to now. Anyone think that might help?

When you say the image is split in half, do you mean it displays two images side by side?

If this is the case, you have it hooked up fine. It displays two images like this so you can actually see something during the boot process.

Install the drivers and adjust the screen resolution to get a single, stable image within Windows. Then adjust the monitor to get a perfect picture.

The sync goes to the - inputs.

The ArcadeVGA card should produce a perfect boot picture, not split. The connections should go to the negative sync inputs so hopefully this will help.

By split I mean it is one image split in half. The left side of the image starts in the middle of the screen and goes off to the right and continues on the left side of the screen.

Right now I have the H/V wires hooked up to the +H/V inputs. I guess this must be the problem. I figured since the original Q*Bert cable was like that, I should just copy it. Oh well.

I will re-wire it and let you guys know.
